Monitoring
Fieldwork is a resource intensive exercise, making best use of this time to gather quality data is crucial for successful projects. Data provides essential feedback on progress and is central to decision making. We design monitoring approaches which achieve the required precision with maximum efficiency to make best use of available resources. Sample size, shape, and layout are optimised depending on the attribute being measured, along with clear field protocols to ensure surveys are repeatable and which minimise observer error.
Data Analysis
Using data to visualise, analyse and communicate progress is a key part of restoration projects. Have objectives been met? What is the trajectory of key indicators? Can conclusions be drawn? By providing robust analysis of data we introduce a level of rigour, reducing the risk of subjective assessments or straying into confirmation bias. We use modern data tools within the R software environment to allow full transparency and repeatability of any analysis, including custom tools and training as part of our deliverables.
